World War III can wait
On October 7, 2023, the deadliest pogrom since World War II was carried out. Over 1,400 Israelis were killed, and more than 200 were kidnapped in Hamas’s horrific attack on young festival-goers and local villagers near the border with Gaza. This sparked Israel’s actions to eliminate the Hamas threat and to free hostages.

Borg excels
During Easter 2003, Anders Borg and I spent time with our families in a cabin in the mountains. Just six months earlier, we had started working for the Moderate Party – Anders as chief economist and head of the parliamentary office, and I as party secretary, i.e., the “CEO” of the party organization.
